Trauma-release Massage
To book a date with Stefan to lead a course, please contact: [email protected]
A one day intensive presenting an original sequence of techniques Stefan has developed specifically for people with present or past trauma. Participants will work on one another to gain direct experience of both giving and receiving trauma-release massage.
The natural response to extreme experiences is shock (an anaesthetic) which may leave the body rigid or weak, in spasm or shaky, numb or in pain. Despair, outrage, terror or grief also 'lodge' in the body, and sometimes many years later the history is still programmed into the body causing chronic restriction.
Stefan's original approach explores non-verbal ways of supporting those who have been through traumatic events. The course builds our capacity to give empathy as much as to apply technique.
Methods include:
cradling, rocking, assisted shaking and mobilisation, hand reflexology, working with the body's energy field, visualisation, pressure points, percussion with vocal release.
This introductory session is fully participatory, working at times in 2's and 3's. It will be of interest to trained therapists and is also open to 'non-experts'.
"Clear and patient teaching approach. Just the right amount of 'stretching'. Sensitivity demonstrated towards all participants and their individual needs."
