Dancing Through Walls
Dancing Through Walls
Middle East: Exploring Deep Roots and Seeds of Hope
We invite you on a symbolic dance journey beyond separation, to a place of deep calm. The aim is to renew our resources and the courage to envision nonviolent ways forward.
No dance experience is needed.
Everyone is warmly welcomed.
Dance where, when and with whom you feel comfortable (hand holding is optional - scarves may be used to connect)
Bethan Freedman studied historic and contemporary dance at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She introduces accessible dances (including Arabic and Hebrew) in circles and lines.
Stefan Freedman draws on his experience of leading dance with Palestinians and Israelis together. He introduces a framework of safety, uses movement and respectful encounter exercises, employing songs and a diversity of musical instruments to enhance the experience.
Sometimes they are joined by others:
Ken Masters explores the potential of music, dance and Qi Gong for bringing even unlikely people together.
Nomi Sharron has been active in peace building groups in Israel / Palestine and the UK. She invites you to explore through dance how a spiritual perspective may enhance peace.
