multicoloured mondays - 3
Ganesha - choreography by Stefan
This dance honours Ganesh, the Hindu deity with the head of an elephant and the body of a child. Ganesh symbolises new beginnings and good fortune. So this is an apt choice for the present time, when everyone has had to relinquish freedom and stability.
The challenge is to step forward with awareness into an unknowable new reality, finding strength from our inner resources. Ganesh is here to help.
It is perfect for ‘hands free’ dancing, having expressive hand and arm movements. By the end of the dance you will have the rejuvenating benefit of ‘brain gym’ by creating new neural pathways.
The delectable music ‘Ganesha’ was composed by Deepak Ram and performed by New Orleans based ‘Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band’. Stefan found in this song subtle, multi-layered chords and harmonies sung with great sweetness. This transported him and inspired the choreography.
